Frequently Asked Questions

We have provided a short list of frequently asked questions below. If you have any questions for us about our cleaning practices or would like information on how to keep your home it's cleanest, please contact us. We look forward to hearing from you.

Q. How often should I have my carpets cleaned?

A.Carpet manufactures, recommend you clean your carpets at least once a year. That is reasonable for a house with no kids, no pets, and hardly any traffic. If you have kids or pets you should clean every six months and put a stain guard on carpets and upholstery every time you clean them. This will help you get and keep stains out of fibers.

Q. What is house dust?

A.So-called house dust is a varied mixture of potentially allergenic materials. It may contain fibers from different types of fabric, cotton lint, feathers, and other stuffing materials. Dandruff from cats, dogs and animal bacteria, mold and fungus spores especially in damp areas, food particles, insects and other allergens peculiar to an individual home.

House dust also contains microscopic mites. These are mites that live in bedding, upholstered furniture, carpets. They thrive in summer and die in the winter months. In a warm humid house, however, they can continue to thrive even in cold weather. The particles seen floating in a shaft of sunlight includes, dead dust mites and their waste products. These waste products that are proteins actually provoke the allergic reaction. Dust mite allergy usually produces symptoms similar to pollen allergy and also can produce symptoms of asthma.

Q. Does vacumming get rid of mites?

A.Ordinary vacuuming does not eradicate the mites or the allergens associated with mites (although it does help). These critters are well equipped with suckers and barbs on their legs that enable them to cling on to the fibers in your upholstery and carpets making it nearly impossible to eradicate them. Hot Water Deep Cleaning is the only environmentally and friendly way that we know how to get rid of the mites.

Q. Do you provide or sell Stain Removal Kits?

A.We have spotters kits available for $14.99. Each kit contains one 8oz cleaner and one terry cloth. Our Stain Spotter Kits will get the most common stains out of carpet and upholstery.

Q. What is the difference between Wet and Dry Cleaning?

A.Dry Cleaning companies sprinkle a powder on your carpet, take a rotary machine with a brush on it and run it around the carpeted areas of our home or office. They then put a bonnet on the machine that picks up some of the dirt in the carpet. Keep in mind that the dirt is still in your carpet and now the powder is in carpet fibers also. Your carpet will smell nice and look good for a day or two. However, when you start walking on your carpet it will look the same if not worse than it did before they came out and dry cleaned it.

Wet steam vacuuming is a proven way to get your carpets their cleanest. The steam cleans all the way down to the backing of the carpets where the dirt resides deep between the fibers. We come in and vacuum the entire carpeted area to be cleaned. We then pretreat all areas to be clean and notice if there are any problems areas that need additional attention. Then we use a rotary machine with a brush and scrub the entire area. All of the dirt, residue and grime is then extracted using a truck mount and hose with water at 190 degrees. If you have opted to have sanitizer or stain guard applied to the area, we do that last.
